Traditionally belts are worn as part of their uniform to show progression through the particular arts being studied. (Karate, Kungfu, Taekwondo, Jujitsu etc..). Most arts follow color principle to sho progression (while, yellow, orange, green, blue, purple, brown, red and black)
Some schools also add accessories like stripes, patches, and pins. These are attached to belts to signify additional accomplishments. Students may store and display their belts in wooden racks. .
